Skipstar! is a fan-made Videlectrix game made by hr. The object of the game is to help Skipstar, the 20X6 counterpart of Slipstar Runner, on a quest to catch the 20X6 version of Coach Pi.

Instructions[edit | edit source]

The game has 20 rounds, each of which is divided into 3 subrounds. In the first subround of each round, gameplay is similar to TROGDOR! Use the arrow keys to move Skipstar around. There are some cubes in these subrounds, and 20X6 Coaches come out of them. Skipstar needs to come into contact with one of these Coaches to catch him or her. However, she has to avoid getting caught by Commander Z, Coach Z's 20X6 counterpart. Once ten Coaches are caught, Skipstar will gain ten water balloons. Press the spacebar to throw them. Once Skipstar runs out of water balloons, she will have to start over. The object of these subrounds is to throw water balloons at the cubes. When a water balloon hits a cube, the cube will turn into a swimming pool. Once all the cubes are turned into swimming pools, you advance to the next subround.

The next subround is similar to the old video game "Burger Time", previously parodied in the canon short "On Break". In these subrounds, Skipstar has to try to make the favorite dessert of one of the 20X6 Twins. Said dessert is a sculpture of 20X6 Coach Pi made of Red Flavored Fluffy Puff Translucent Dessert Related Substance, with a fish for the pi medallion. The game calls it a Jelly-Fish Pi. To make them, Skipstar has to walk and climb around a vertical maze to send the ingredients down, while avoiding the Coaches. Once every Jelly-Fish Pi is complete, you advance to the next subround.

The third and final subround is similar to Pac-Man. In these rounds, Skipstar is lost in another vertical maze and has to find the way out. Once she collects all the small dots in the maze, the way out will be found. Again, Skipstar has to avoid getting caught by the Coaches. Once Skipstar is outside the maze, a short interlude will play, after which you will advance to the next round.

Interludes[edit | edit source]

Most of the interludes for this game are similar to the ones in TROGDOR!

splashin' good.[edit | edit source]

Skipstar is being chased toward the left of the screen by Commander Z. A random Coach is standing on the left of the screen. Skipstar catches the random Coach and then throws a water balloon at Commander Z.

catch 'em up Skip[edit | edit source]

Four random Coaches walk toward Skipstar, who throws a water balloon at each of them.

parade of Skipstars[edit | edit source]

Nine Skipstars parade across the screen.

dancin' time[edit | edit source]

Skipstar is dancing, with four random Coaches on either side of her (eight total).

catching yourself[edit | edit source]

Skipstar throws a water balloon to the right of the screen, but the water balloon bounces off the edge and hits Skipstar.

Coach dominoes[edit | edit source]

Skipstar is standing to the right of four random Coaches. She throws a water balloon at the Coach closest to her. It hits that Coach, who runs to the left and bumps into the next Coach, who runs to the left and bumps into the third Coach, who runs to the left and bumps into the last Coach, who runs to the left and off-screen.

Skipstar incognito[edit | edit source]

Two Coaches enter from opposite sides of the screen and stop in the middle. The one on the left is a random Coach, and the one on the right is Commander Z. The random Coach throws a water balloon at Commander Z.

go Skipstar![edit | edit source]

Skipstar and Pi are in a race, with ten random Coaches watching. Skipstar wins the race.

Skipstar sayang[edit | edit source]

Skipstar and Pi are on opposite sides of a swimming pool (but not in the pool). Skipstar throws a water balloon at Pi, but once the balloon hits Pi, it bounces back and hits Skipstar.

2 cubes[edit | edit source]

Two cubes appear.

a funny joke[edit | edit source]

Commander Z is minding his own business on the left side of the screen. Skipstar enters from the right side of the screen, throws a water balloon at Commander Z, and leaves. When Commander Z turns around after being hit by the water balloon, he finds no one.

how to catch a Kerrek[edit | edit source]

Skipstar is on screen with the Kerrek. The Kerrek bounces up and down a few times before Skipstar throws a water balloon at him, somehow turning him into a roast Kerrek.

Skipstar over yonder[edit | edit source]

Skipstar walks across the screen. She is wearing a green hat with a yellow star on it.

bye-bye, Jelly-Fish Pi[edit | edit source]

Skipstar throws a water balloon at a Jelly-Fish Pi. When the balloon hits the Jelly-Fish Pi, it bounces back and hits Skipstar.

catching the big dot[edit | edit source]

Skipstar is being chased by Commander Z and three random Coaches. There is a big dot on the left side of the screen. When Skipstar catches the big dot, she turns around, and now it's the Coaches' turn to be chased.

1-Up vs. Skipstar[edit | edit source]

Skipstar throws a water balloon at 1-Up. She misses. 1-Up then throws a water balloon at Skipstar. He doesn't miss.

rather splashing[edit | edit source]

Skipstar is throwing water balloons at Trogdor, and Trogdor is trying to burninate Skipstar. Rather Dashing appears between the two and one of Skipstar's water balloons hits him just as Trogdor tries to burninate him.

missed by that much![edit | edit source]

Skipstar tries to throw a water balloon at Pi, but misses.

double trouble[edit | edit source]

Two Skipstars each try to throw a water balloon at Pi (who is between the two Skipstars), but they both miss and instead hit each other.

Pi is caught![edit | edit source]

Skipstar sneaks up behind Pi and throws a water balloon at her. It splashes her, just as Skipstar planned.

[edit | edit source]

Pi is minding her own business on the right side of the screen. Skipstar enters from that side and tries to throw a water balloon at Pi. The balloon bounces off Pi and splashes Skipstar.

Tips[edit | edit source]

  • 1-Up appears in every Jelly-Fish Pi subround and in every maze subround. Also, he sometimes comes out of the cubes in the TROGDOR!-type subrounds. In any subround, you gain an extra life when he is caught.
  • In the TROGDOR!-type subrounds, Commander Z's movement is completely random. He changes his direction when he hits a wall or a cube.
  • Coaches can go in one of four directions when coming out of a cube. 1-Up's movement in the TROGDOR!-type subrounds is the same.
  • The movement of the Coaches in the Jelly-Fish Pi subrounds and the maze subrounds are completely random. 1-Up's movement in these subrounds, however, are not. He just moves to the left or to the right, turning around when he hits a wall.
  • Catching big dots in the maze subrounds allow the Coaches to be caught. However, this only lasts 20 seconds.
  • When a new round starts and you have less than 3 mans left, you automatically get 3 mans.

Fun Facts[edit | edit source]

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Catching the Coaches seems to involve them ending up in swimsuits. This isn't surprising, considering Skipstar's "weapon" of choice (water balloons).
  • The 20X6 Twins, Oneder and Twoder, do not appear in the game. However, they are mentioned at the introduction of the second subround of round one.

Remarks[edit | edit source]

  • Rather Dashing, Trogdor, and the Kerrek appear in the interludes in this game, even though they are not 20X6 characters.
    • They appear because the interludes are similar to the ones in TROGDOR!
